Their connection to the American West dates to the early 1900s when the grandparents traveled from the Midwest and settled in the southwest corner of North Dakota where they farmed and raised cattle. There, Lloyd and Violet Weinreis, their son- and daughter-in-law, raised twelve children—seven boys and five girls—who furthered the tradition of living and working off the land. Three generations later, the Weinreis family’s ranching and farming interests have grown from the original 160-acre homestead to over 71,000 deeded acres in North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Wyoming.
